We wanted to build a bracelet shaped like a wrist—flat on top, rounded at the sides. But fiddle-worthy. I’d been wanting to incorporate a barrel style lock from a door and an exposed hinge into a piece somehow—they’d been on my desk for a while—one of each—waiting for a home. When we started modeling the prototype the shape of the domed closure reminded me of the 1934 Burlington Zephyr 9900 train—train that rain from Chicago to Denver. The function is the story of this bracelet as is the case with our pieces.
