Hello!

I hope this note finds you and yours well and that you're hitting your end of summer shuffle into fall. I always wonder before I sit down to write these if I'm boring you. Do I have anything to say? Do you care? Regardless, there are things to share with you so I'm just gonna go for it.

Say hello to The String Project.

Let’s start at the beginning with The String Project. The String Project doesn’t start with string at all but with leather. In fact the reason I so heavily researched string was because I started the company using leather cords to which we attached gold ends but the leather was too fragile and I quickly stopped making them. I needed something stronger which led me to learn about a material called Dyneema–and it is the world’s strongest fiber and it is at the core of The String Project.

We have these strands custom woven for us here in the US. This is the first time we believe that this material has been used in jewelry. We can’t wait to see how you’re going to use them. We are kicking it off with 4 colors and the option of gold, silver or pave diamond or multicolor sapphire loops. If you’re observant you’ve noticed I’ve been wearing one on my arm nonstop for the past year. It’s virtually indestructible but please don’t do anything too crazy with it.

Talking Chains: a small but mighty update.

Last year we brought you Talking Chains that are chains that literally have letters incorporated into them so they move with the chain. You continue to love them and we are not done with them. How could we not add stones? So now you can add stones set in bezels of gold to your Talking Chain. And guess what, we can retroactively add stones to your existing Talking Chains so, ask us about that too. But maybe you want to build a new one…maybe you just want to use stones to say something in the spirit of Acrostic jewelry — a type of jewelry that uses the first letter of gemstones to spell out a secret message or phrase — you can do that too.

Speaking of the showroom, it is with great pleasure that I let you all know that as of September 14, our NYC showroom is open on Saturdays from 11am-6pm and you can book your appointment HERE.
