A note from Marla

Here we are again, celebrating year 11 (!) of #lockyourmom -- our little project where we give away sterling silver Heartlocks engraved with a (!) for the !!!! of motherhood to single mums. It is our second year bringing it to you in the UK. I can’t quite believe it. Why do we do it? The reason is simple: I was a single mom, and I know what that’s like. Mother’s Day can be bittersweet—sometimes even lonely. Yes, parenting alone can be a lonely endeavor. Over the years, we’ve given thousands of Locks away to single moms, and my hope is to continue expanding the impact of #lockyourmom. There’s still so much more to do! If you are a single mum or know a single mum let us know.

We wanted to add something on the Heartlock to make it special and specific to single motherhood which is how we decided to add an exclamation point. For the !!!! of motherhood — the powerful, speechless feeling of motherhood.
