How To Choose the Right Heavy Curb Chain Length
For the sake of understanding "How to Choose a Chain" we are focusing on the Heavy Curb Chain, a real workhorse for our Locks and one of our most beloved chains in the collection. However, you can apply everything we are laying down here to any of our chains.
Step One: Ask yourself … (spoiler: this is not existential) … how do you like to wear your chains? Something easy to wear every day? 15" is great for a short look, while 16" or 18" will do you well if you like an open shirt kind of look. If you are into wrapping … head into the longer lengths like 22" or even 36".
Step Two: Measure your neck. Being precise is a good idea here. The easiest way to do this is pretty simple: grab a piece of string. Pinch it where you'd like your chain to hit. Then measure the string. Remember, a Lock will extend the length of your chain by at least half an inch.
Step Three: Pick a Lock … to close your chain. This part is fun. All of our Locks are hard-working. Whether Sterling Silver, Gold, Rubber or Platinum, truly, there are no wrong choices and the possibilities of what you can do with a Lock and a chain are endless.
Step Four: Before you make your final decision, be polite and consider your existing jewelry collection. Our jewelry is as much for the things sitting in your jewelry box as it is for you. What are the most popular chain lengths?
15” = If you like your chains "high and tight" this length is for you.
18” = Not only is this a favorite necklace length (good under a collar, good over a tee) it can also wrap around your wrist and worn as a bracelet.
32” = Long and made for maximum play...wrap it around your neck, wrap it around your wrist...we are always amazed at the things people create with this chain.
Does the Heavy Curb Chain work with all the locks?
Essentially, yes, this chain will work with most all of our Locks. But, like many things in life, there are some exceptions. Specifically, this chain will not attach to the loops of our Large Lock, the Mega Lock, and our Large Hand Engraved Heartlock.
