We give away locks to single moms...
Find out WhyWe started giving locks away to single moms in 2016. This year, we're giving away 1,500.
We do this because I was a single mom when my son was small. Then I met my husband and together with our children we made a family.
Being a single mom was the most difficult time in my life. Mother's Day was specifically bittersweet. When you have a small child and it’s Mother’s Day and virtually everyone around you has a partner who is celebrating their “motherliness”… well it can feel sad. I remember that feeling and I want to give back in a small personal way.

The exclamation point!

Our locks have 6 sides on which to engrave names, words, messages... anything. I was thinking about what to engrave on these very special locks and "Mom" didn't quite work because that is not universal. What IS universal is the powerful, speechless feeling of motherhood. The !!! of motherhood — both how it feels to be a mother and how one feels about their mother... so that's what we did.

Giving the locks is a small thing in the grand scheme of things but we have found that they make the recipients happy. It is that simple. To date we have given away thousands of locks to single moms all over the country — we even gave some away in our vending machine — and we are not done yet.
If you are just joining us and want to know what it all means, follow the #lockyourmom hashtag on Instagram.

Nominate a Mom
Simply fill out the form below telling us about yourself or a single mom that you want to celebrate. This is not a contest — it’s first come first serve. After you submit, you will hear from us so you know if and when the lock is coming.

We also sell jewelry in a vending machine.
After a trip to Japan in 2016 where Marla was inspired by vending machines lining the streets, she decided that we should build our own and fill it with our jewelry.
