2025 Wrap Up

Hi,

I’m writing this on one of my last days in our office before our holiday break. But before any more time gets away, I wanted to say thank you. To have the privilege of playing jewelry with you is a joy we don’t take lightly—and one we’re deeply grateful for.

We are making a year-in-review video we’ll share soon. It includes all the beautiful things we made this year and parodies something from Vogue—a magazine in which we did not appear. We did, however, appear in The New York Times three times in 2025, which still feels surreal and makes us very proud.

If I had my druthers, I’d be writing just as much about the things that aren’t jewelry. The thoughts that orbit the jewelry. Maybe 2026 will be the year I finally really take our Substack seriously. But until then, I have a couple of jewelry updates to share:

Showroom Hours If you’re in New York City, our showroom is open...there are not many appointments left, but there are a few, which you can book, here. And if you have something specific that you would like before the holiday, we would be delighted to prepare it for you for pickup.

And on January 1st...we will continue what's become a tradition of making something new for you to start out the new year. This year's is something new, but also not. You will see. You know I'm bad at secrets so I'm just going to drop a solo (hint) image here. The team will probably send you a reminder the morning of its official launch. It's something we use to make that some of you have asked about. I've said enough.

If you are a desperate daddy like me, there may still be time to order the yard game Granny Pants, which several people in my family will be receiving as a gift. I found it on the 'Tik, naturally.

The fact that my endless searches about pirates and all things Mongolian somehow landed me at this gift is remarkable.

All of this—the travel, the work, the planning, the gifting—has me thinking about what it looks like to properly recharge once the dust settles. For me, it’s podcasts. I’m always listening to an unreasonable number of them. I enjoy them more than watching lately and here are some of my favorites.

The Moth (my forever favorite and the one that started me on my podcast journey) Real stories told live without notes.
Snap Judgment: For pure drama set to a beat.
Ear Hustle: Life in prison. Poignant. Human.
This American Life: It's just that...my favorite is the rest stop episode.
Dumb Blond: Not dumb at all...Bunny XO, wife of Jelly Roll is candid, funny and some days just what I want.
Beautiful Anonymous: One hour. One phone call. No names.
Modern Love:The New York Times offshoot of their column and it is everything.
Behind the Bastards: It's about the worst humans in history....buckle up.
The New Yorker: Fiction: I listen to this when I feel like I need a dose of excellence and it never disappoints.

I’m also planning to finish I’ll Show Myself Out, about motherhood and life written by one of our customers, Jessi Klein. (It's hilarious)

And yes, I will absolutely be at home in Harlem cooking lots of things.I am particularly obsessed with cooking in a Donabe clay pot. We'll see how that goes for us. Speaking of recipes, I was just alerted that this is what comes up when you ask gemini about Sea Salt Butter Cake. I am floored.

While we’re on the subject of indulgence, I’ll also be binging anything by @cocoalarkincooks. She is, in the scientific sense of the word, everything—amazing cook and just a delicious person.

More soon—about jewelry, and the things around jewelry, and maybe the things not about jewelry at all.

And on a final timely note, this was written for you by an actual human. And this team wishes you a glorious holiday season.

Warmest and with gratitude always,
Marla
